About

Lisa Lambert is a writer, dog lover, mental health advocate, avid coffee drinker and non profit director.  She has been writing a blog at the PPAL blog for a number of years, detailing her experiences raising her son with mental health needs.  She doesn’t want your sympathy; she wants to shake things up.  She has also blogged on Plaid for Women and Medium.

Almost 9 years ago, she adopted two dogs from a rescue and they took over her life in short order.  She decided to foster dogs from the same rescue, mostly dogs who are called “returns.”  They are dogs whose adoption has failed, often through no fault of their own.  Many had some behavior problems, anxiety , sadness or were pretty confused.  Lisa looked at her experiences with her son and then looked at how the dogs were feeling and a light bulb went off.

Stories can change the world and Lisa loves to tell stories.  She writes mental health stories, stories about dogs and their challenges and stories meant to mend the world.  Or a small part of it.
